On the eve of Christmas holidays, children received shoes and clothes for the winter

Schinoasa from Tibirica region, Calarasi district is a small village, with a majority of gypsies and it has no school or kindergarten or even a medical care point. The few children, who attend the school, are forced to go in the neighboring village. Most of the families don’t have the necessary things to maintenance the children.

As a result of a private initiative, on 8 December, a group of representatives from many international, non governmental and private institutions organized a charity action for those 84 gypsies children from that small village. Should be mentioned the fact that to the needs of children were receptive individual persons and representatives of some Embassies accredited in R. Moldova. Thus, on the eve of winter holidays, children received shoes and clothes, and the Charity Center for refugees, financially supported by the UNCHR Representation in Moldova, offered to all children sweets.

Mrs. Anastasia Divinskaya, UN Women coordinator, told us that this initiative was possible as a result of a prior discussion with the elders of this locality who were concerned about the fact that majority of the children don’t have clothes for the winter season.  I want to thank Zorile Enterprise Administration for the understanding and contribution in achieving this charity action, because the shoes were purchased at half price – said Mrs. Divinskaya.

Winter is coming, even if it’s without the snow, and they do not have the necessary clothes to wear – told us Mrs. Rodica Cazma, who also made the list of the children beneficiaries. It is a problem they couldn’t pass without the support of the organizations and people with big heart, whom we thank – said Mrs. Cazma.

Being sure that they will have a warm winter and sweet holidays, children and their parents thanked to all those who contributed to the organization of this charity action.
