A nice initiative, transformed over time into a tradition, supported by the wives of diplomats accredited in Republic of Moldova

The International Women’s Club of Moldova organized, on 3rd December, the XV edition of the Winter Charity Fair. This beautiful initiative, transformed over time into a tradition, belongs to the wifes of diplomats accredited in Republic of Moldova.

The opening of the Fair started with a beautiful concert of traditional dances, songs and carols, the special guest was well known and appreciated singer Geta Burlacu. Entertaining program, various cuisines of different nations and the winning lottery were part of the rich agenda proposed by the organizers. Traditionally at the Fair were the representatives of international institutions and embassies of different countries, residing in Chisinau – USA, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, China, Bulgaria, Hungary, Belarus and others, in total over 40 institutions. 

Visitors have tasted the food offered by the representatives of different countries; they could buy souvenirs of different and unusual shapes and taste exotic food. Handicraft products, jewelry – beads, items handmade and hand-knitted, colorful handkerchiefs were presented and offered with great kindness by the Hungarian Embassy. Fast-food lovers could taste at the USA Embassy the most appetizing hot-dogs. Many books and CDs about the culture of their countries presented by the Turkey and China Embassies. Natural cosmetics and other valuable things were offered by the representatives of Belarus Embassy. Of course there were present the Christmas masks, deers and fairies, and the beautiful Christmas tree.

We can help people in need, says Maria Moser, the wife of the USA Ambassador in Moldova.
And this is a great thing, because the visitors through their contribution have the possibility to show their solidarity with the children in need, said Ana Maria Luft.  

As every year with special things participated at the Charity Fair the representatives of the Charity Center for Refugees (CCR). Mr. Djavid Paknehad, project coordinator, told us that the Fair is a great way to collect not just donations, but also smiles and good mood on the faces of those present here, which gives a status of friends and friendships to the celebration. We participate every year t o this manifestation and we offer with pleasure the money gathered to organizers, which in turn, finances various projects of medical and social assistance in Moldova.  
Here we present and sell, at low prices, different objects – beautiful paintings of children in primary classes, ceramics made by children from refugees family in Moldova, jewelries made from elephant bones brought from Africa, Egyptian figurines, baskets from crocodile leather, illustrations on papyrus and cottons sheets am many other things.
This event unites the communities in an atmosphere of celebration, were everyone can make good things and offer a warm smile. Note that in fifteen years from the first organization of the Fair were gathered about 200 thousand dollars.
