Efficient collaboration between UNHCR and MIA: advanced technical equipment to inform citizens

On 2nd December, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, took place the transmission of the advanced technical equipment for the Public Relations department of MIA. The project was developed after the collaboration between UNHCR and MIA which had as aim the improvement of the quality and efficiency of informing the citizens of the Moldovan Republic.

Mr. Peter Kessler, UNHCR Representative, mentioned during the meeting that this grant was offered due to the interest and desire, showed by the collaborators of this department, for the development of the informational and communicational process with the citizens of the Moldovan Republic, including through the social networks, offering latest information. I’m sure that with the receiving of this grant, of this modern equipment, the staff responsible for communication and information will contribute to public awareness interested in MIA projects and in the reforms they are going through. Between UNHCR and MIA is a well established cooperation, especially on the activity sector of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum, and this action, demonstrates once again the availability of UNHCR to work with other MIA subdivisions, having as aim stimulations the activities in citizens benefit, said Peter Kessler.


Mr. Alexei Roibu, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, thanked for the help provided by UNHCR, saying that this is a durable and perspective relation, it reflects positively on the Ministry of Internal Affairs staff activities and it is very important, including the perspective of accession to the European Union. “This equipment will be used to inform citizens 24 hours from 24- objectively and professional; will be presented journalistic materials on the ground to avoid misinterpretation – also mentioned Roibu

The donation of the photo and computer equipment, amounting to 65 000 lei, for the Department of Information and Public Relations and International Cooperation and European Integration Department  of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was transmitted within the Regional Protection Project in Belarus, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine funded by the European Union.
